There are 82 dog breeds under 30 pounds in total, if a dog weighs under 30 pounds and above 22 pounds it is classed as a medium-small sized dog.

Staffordshire Bull Terrier has very high energy levels and would not be suited to a person that does not have the time to devote to the dog regarding exercise. If the dog does not get enough exercise it will get mischievous.

Cardigan Welsh Corgi is considered to be easy to house train and is also classed as a low shedding small dog breed. It will shed some fur, but it will be minimal.

Swedish Vallhund is another breed that has incredibly high exercise demands, it will require at least 2 good walks each day to stay happy and content.

Miniature Bull Terrier is good with children and is known to make a pretty good little watchdog. This dog is not good around other small pets like cats and birds.

English Cocker Spaniel is another breed in this size category that has high energy levels. This breed will be reserved around strangers unless well socialised.

Miniature Poodle is a really good family dog, they do not shed any fur at all, they are easy to train and are good around children, what more do you want?

Beagle is can weigh as little as 18 pounds and can weigh up to 31 pounds, hence its inclusion in this category. These dogs have high energy and are not considered easy to house train at all.

Tibetan Terrier is in the same weight range as the Beagle is, this breed is good with kids and is also friendly towards cats.

American Cocker Spaniel has high exercise requirements and is another breed that is good with cats and other small animals like hamsters.

French Bulldog is finally a dog breed in this weight category that has low energy and will definitely be happy to laze around the house all day. Every dog should have at least one good walk each day.

Pembroke Welsh Corgi is a breed that can weigh under 25 pounds weighing between 20 and 26 pounds as a fully grown adult dog, hence the inclusion in this category.

Mittel German Spitz is a dog that has long fluffy fur and will require daily grooming, it is also known to bark a lot if not controlled from an early age.

Boston Terrier can weigh as little as 15 pounds, its maximum weigh could be 25 pounds. This is another breed that will make a really good watchdog.

Regular Dachshund is good with children, not so good with small pets unless raised with them. This breed is friendly towards strangers too.
